When I was out shooting photographs of the Christmas lights in the downtown village of Nashville, the extra battery for my camera fell out of my pocket.
I searched for it but it was too dark and rainy and I couldn’t find it.
The next day I went back in the daylight to search again.
Right in front of the Bird’s Nest restaurant. Right at this spot in the painting.
As I was scouring the area and poking around the parked cars in the street, someone from the restaurant came out and greeted me.
I told him I was looking for my camera battery and he said that they had it inside, in the restaurant, at the waitress station.
Someone found it last night and realized it was mine because they had seen me out there taking pictures earlier.
How they knew it was me is a mystery because it was dark out! And I don’t remember seeing anybody. And it was rather late and, I think, the restaurant was closed.
Nevertheless, I retrieved my battery, waiting for me, with my name on it, inside the cozy, warm restaurant filled with wonderful aromas.
In a small town, everyone knows your name. Even on a dark, rainy night when you think you are alone and anonymous.
Still time for a unique artwork to arrive for holiday gift giving.
Love and hugs,
Charlene
